TRADITIONAL COUNTRY PUB WITH FINE DINING
Set in the heart of the small village of Gilston between Harlow and Sawbridgeworth, The Plume is a traditional, family run pub offering a variety of comforting and original English inspired dishes. All our meals are home cooked using the freshest ingredients from our local suppliers, Mikes of Sawbridgeworth, Stickleback at Welham Green, and Farm2table at Great Hallingbury.
PRIVATE FUNCTIONS
We can cater to small and large functions including funeral receptions and parties. We also have a private dining area that seats up to 26 people and an outside marquee with seating for 32. We cater for up to 120 people for private functions

The Plume has a fresh modernised look whilst keeping the warm and inviting classic pub environment. We have a cozy log burner for the cold wintery months and our beautiful flowered garden for the summer months, with 2 fairy-lit wooden gazebos and a heated marque, perfect for the chillier summer evenings. We allow family dogs on our patio area and beer garden. We ask that dogs be always kept on a lead. Unfortunately, we do not allow dogs inside the pub or restaurant.
CULINARY
Our head chef Kaya joined The Plume in 2019 bringing with him an exciting new outlook on modern dining. Kaya had spent previous years traveling around Europe and working in many fine dining restaurants along the way. He brought with him exciting new ideas of how The Plume menu could be. His priorities are always locally sourced ingredients and home cooking. ‘our food is prepared fresh daily, meaning we can adapt dishes to suit dietary requirements’ Kaya has a team of young, enthusiastic chefs and sous chefs who are on hand to ensure food quality, presentation of dishes, and timelessly serving orders.
